I am curious to see how well they hold up but quality seems good. They are certainly expensive, yet I'm considering also picking up a second pair in khaki. Combined with the light material and the stretch it can cause them to not "fall" back down sometimes after they rise up my ankle while sitting down etc. The thighs/crotch do run a bit larger relative to the waist sizing, but I do a lot of trail running in the mountains and have relatively large quads and large calves so they fit well except that they are tapered enough to be fairly snug on my calves. Fit is generally good and true to size for me. I too would have been fine skipping the rear zipper pocket. Breathable, extremely comfortable with the right amount of stretch, and generally looks nice. I generally really like them - the grey is as I hoped, and the fabric is great. Recently received a pair of these in grey after reading some of these comments and thought I'd add my thoughts since there are still surprisingly few reviews out there. The result? I like them well enough to buy a second pair, despite the poor fit (on me) and the price. They’ve been washed, once, with no problems. Shorts will be more comfy, but sometimes real trousers are necessary. They are clearly my most comfortable pants for high temps by a long way, yes, better than FutureWorks. In practice, I have worn mine for several weeks, in UK temperatures (highs 22-28C, and humid), and Spain temperatures (highs 24-36C, and dry). The crotch gusset is there, and it does its job. I must point out that they are only available in 32” and 30” lengths for me this is better than jeans that come in one length only, 34” or 36”. The Travel Pants have taken into account forum complaints that they need more room in the butt and thighs mine are baggy in these areas, and I’m not slim, nor are my thighs (horse riding, etc). ![]() The cut? Personally, I strongly prefer the SDs, which is a slimmed 501 equivalent. I don’t yet know how it will work in cold climates, but I don’t have a problem keeping warm when it’s cold, I just have a big problem keeping cool in the heat. ![]() Doesn’t snag like SD’s nylon, it is very lightweight and thin. ![]() I’d far rather have an in-seam hidden zipper pocket on the thigh. On the subject of pockets, rear zipper pockets are useless: they destroy your passport in no time, and a George C wallet will destroy your back. Pocket five is approximately Levi size, which is a miss a travel pants should have an iPhone size pocket there. Initially available in goes-with-everything black, in five pocket style, with an added zipper hidden rear pocket.
